At mid to high speeds my engine (1987 165hp 4cyl merc) backfires then slows down for a couple seconds then regains speed again. <br /><br />Also after it backfires i noticed some oil on the top of the engine. <br />For now it has only backfired when warm (125-150deg.)<br />Maybe i just need a tuneup?
