1987 Mariner, 25 HP

I have just bought this 25hp mariner from a friend of mine sight unseen. He lives quite a distance from me so I'm not picking up the motor<br />till late spring. My question is,I know it is a manual start and I want to know if there is a kit made to convert it to electric start. Also is the motor still being made. And were they any <br />good. Boy, this is asking a lot for my first post.<br />Thanks<br />Claude

Believe it or not Mariner was built for Mercury by Yamaha Thats where Yamaha got its start here with Merc. Tech assistance. Yamahas are good motors and I havent heard bad about Mariner.<br /> Starter conversion can be pricey. Not sure where you would get parts.Use Google and look around on the net using various mariner word combos.<br />Good luck
