Ok guys, I have and 87 gt150 (J150STLCUR) that's leaking burnt oil down the back of the midsection. I think its coming from the power head adapter gasket but not sure. I am replacing that next week. Also have burnt oil leaking out of 2 spark plugs of the right side of the motor. Plugs are all new and tight. Compression checks on all 6 are 90 exactly. Motor is strong at WOT. at slow idle 4-6mph with the motor trimmed down it will bog down and try to die, sometimes it will die and smokes very bad. if you trim up it smooths out and stops smoking. Could all this be from the power head adapter gasket? Everything else is near perfect but that burnt oil is getting annoying. Thanks in advance!!!!!

Part of it MIGHT be carbs needing the floats adjusted (carb rebuild kit, clean the carb, replace all the gaskets and the other parts in the kit since you'll have it open anyway and need most of the gaskets)

This is from the symptoms other than the leaking oil.

The oil is most likely from gaskets leaking in the exhaust path.

Might be getting more oil than it needs also (not really a bad thing... just costs more for the extra oil)

Yea I failed to mention I will be rebuilding the carbs as well next week. waiting on parts now. The VRO has been disconnected and I pre mix. Im mixing 50:1 exactly, TC-W3... I was thinking that something is going on exhaust side of it because its all burnt oil.. any other gaskets in the exhaust path that could need replaced??
