1987 Evinrude 4hp

My grandfather gave me a 1987 evinrude 4hp motor with a sailboat shaft. My plan was to sell it to get another bigger motor, but when i went to start it it ran so nicely that im thinking about keeping it. so the question is can i make this motor a short shaft by taking out a part in the shaft?

To shorten it you'll have to replace the drive shaft, shift shaft and water tube. Go to shop.evinrude.com and look up your mtr for the parts you'll need. And then faint at the prices.
