1987 Evinrude 110 horse shift rod height

My 110 horse had a slipping clutch dog. Pulled the lower unit apart and replaced it along with the forward gear. Thanks to the guys over at AOMCI, I didn't have to pay through the nose for them.
My manual says that my shift rod height should be 21 27/32" from gearcase to the center of the shift rod hole. That is for the long shaft motor.
Can I round that to 21 7/8" and be ok?

Try it and see what happens as it's only 1/32".
