1987 70 hp johnson timing

I need help with timing/spark advance on a 1987 70 hp johnson (model j70elcur 1987). Please tell me what the idle and full settings are. Also, please help me understand this adjustment. Currently at idle, the number next to the timing pointer is "TDC".<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Nate

Nate,<br /><br />To this and to your other question, you need the Service Manual.<br /><br />Do the linkage and synchronization procedure by the book and all will be well.<br /><br />Messing with either the carbs or the stator without doing both is the road to frustration.<br /><br />Good luck.
