Hi, I am working on a 1987 Johnson 70 hp (model - j70elcur 1987). I can only get the motor to start if I have the carb butterfly valves 1/2 way open. It also appears to be putting out a lot of gas when cranking (with carb butterfly valves closed). I put may hand over each of the carbs while trying to crank and they get gas all over them. Compression is 110 in all 3 cylinders, spark is good on all 3 cylinders, and carbs feel like they are pulling a vacuum. I am assumed the carbs were out of low speed adjustment, but I see (by the parts list) that these have an orifice instead of an adjustment screw. Can you help point me in the right direction with the carbs? Also, is there anything I need to do related to the primer?

Thanks,
Nate
