The years of coverage are not correct. from 73 to about 75 they used a hydro-assist lower unit. Thes can be determined by rotating the driveshaft clockwise and viewing the rotation of the prop shaft. With the shift shaft pulled up all the way, a clockwise rotation of the driveshaft will cause a clockwise rotation of the prop(foward). This is the one that you want. The earlier versions of your lower unit(non-hydro) will work, but the impeller is different it uses a half moon key instead of a pin or cam. Also, the foward gear uses a tapered roller bearing instead of a roller thrust bearing. I prob' have one in short shaft, but would like to confirm with a mod. number.
