Howdy,

Most people use a "puller" and use the procedure outlined in the service manual.

If you don't have an OEM OMC service manual you can get on on ebay fairly easily.

I know they're somewhat expensive. (same as few tanks of gas!)..... (I paid the same amount for a reprint 1987 OEM service manual a few years ago)

Your best bet IS an OEM manual.....

I got the puller, pulled it off. Took care of the leaky gasket at the timing cover. Where do I get an installer for the harmonic balancer?

Most of us use a longer bolt that is the same thread size as the crank bolt ,stack some washers as spacers, and DRAW the balancer back on untill it seats, then install the nose bolt.

Ayuh,.... I prefer a length of threaded rod, screwed into the crankshaft, somewhat loose,...
Then push the balancer on by running another Nut,'n washers down the rod....
Much easier on those threads in the cast iron of the crankshaft....

If you rented the puller, try the same automotive store for the installer. If you don't have a bunch of long 7/16 fine threaded bolts around, you will probably spend more for the bolt than the rental of the tool would be.
