1986 yamaha 115 rebuilding carbs

i have a 1986 yamaha 115 and i want to rebuild<br />or clean the carburetors.<br />i have never done this and would like to atempt it.<br />i have a shop manual and all the tools but i don't have any type of analyzers or test equipment. i am a electronics technician by trade and am very mechanicly inclined.<br />i want to be able to do my own repairs and maintenance without spending a lot of money on service.what type of equipment would be needed to do this type of job and how difficult is it.<br />any guidance and words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Wooky,<br />After you get yourself a manual for that Yammy, all you'll need are the basic hand tools and carb cleaner to do the carbs. Access to compressed air is also very helpful. Be sure to follow the manual in the "link & sync" procedure after re-installation. ;) <br />Backlash

Check the passages for the idle jet carefully. Part of the idle passage is in the bottom of the float bowl. This is an area that collects varnish and trash.
