I am having a problem with an alarm coming from my throttle control. The alarm only comes on when the engine is gear and RPMs are a little over idle. When I push the throttle ? or more, the alarm goes away. I have replaced the water pump late last year. When the alarm goes off, I touch the water coming out of the engine and it is warm but not hot. I contacted a dealer and they suggest replacing the thermostat first, then the Overheat Buzzer Assembly. If anyone had any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time and help.

Heat sensor or the engine is actually getting hot.

Re: 1986 Nissan 70hp (NS70A) Alarm from Throttle Control

Thanks for getting back to me. I contacted the local dealer and they said they looked up the motor in their books and they could not find a heat sensor on the engine. They said the the only thing they can find is the Overhead Buzzer Assembly which is located in the throttle control. Where is the heat sensor located at? Also I saw in another post by you regarding a similar issue that you recommended turning down the water pressure sensor. Does my 1986 engine have a water pressure sensor? If so, where is it located? On antoher note, how available are parts for my 1986 engine? I want to weigh the odds if it's worth putting time and money into an engine that may or may not have parts available for repairs. Thanks.
