Less than 1000, fast enough to not die when shifting into a gear but slow enough so that you don't get grinding or clunking when shifting. On my latest 90 hp 3 cyl, which yours may be the 3 cyl 75, aka same basic series of engine, it was 675 +/- 50, boat in the water engine in F gear.
