86 Merc 200 with controls low water pickups. Great shape not a scratch on cowl. 124 psi on cyls stock but has a G_Force tuner about 175 hrs on the motor. 2000.00 + ship for complete motor
Ahoy. Witchammer. I'm not a Mercspert, but I just hate to see a zero in the replies column.<br /><br />Do I understand correctly that you are offering to sell a 15 year old engine for 2 grand? Well, 175 hours isn't much more than a break in. But a MERC? Well, I said I was no Mercspert.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB
Mercury and thats right 2000.00 thats a deal. The lower unit alone is worth about 700.00 trim unit and trim motor 250.00 > 15 yrs is not what you look at I dont think. When a new one cost 11000.00 If someone has a 1984 to 1991 or so boat with a blowed motor 2000.00 is cheap to get back on the water. I work at a boat dealer in TENN just sold 2 Evinrudes 88 HP 1988 modles one for 2800.00 2500.00 for the other. Good used motors are hard to find. What is your guess to its value. A reman powerhead shortblock for this motor will run you 3500.00 easy. So 2000.00 complete 200 HP 175HRS is a super deal
Got this off a powerhead site so I copyed it THE MASTERTECH'S MERCURY MARINER POWERHEAD PAGE 200HP 142 CID<br />1983-90 350 Price: $3500.00<br /> <br />200HP 153 CID<br />1991 UP 400 Price: $3875.00 <br />asyou can see thats if the core is good add 350.00 or 400.00 if not and you still got a 15 year old motor
I also copyed these prices from a site http://www.fishandgame.com/suprememarine/usedmtrs.htm MARINER 87 200 $4400 <br />MERCURY 84 200 $4200 <br />MERCURY 83 200 $3915 <br />MERCURY 84 150 <br />MERCURY 87 150 $3610 <br />So as you can see 2000.00 is great
Also heres the cheapest I can find used online http://www.bassboatcentral.com/swap&sell2.htm 150 Merc 1985 2.4 liter Mercury 150...just off of double oil from a <br /> rebuild. Trim doesn't leak. New starter, stator, 'stats and $2500. <br /> popit valve. Runs great, just maxed out my hp on my Rebel. <br /> I'll throw in the controls. Would consider most anything on <br /> trade. 200 Merc V6}__________<br /> {Rebuilt last year, 1987 200 HP Mercury V6 Black Max. Pwrmktr - AL <br />Black Max<br /> Low hours on rebuilt motor. Looking for a 90's model $2800 } _____ I repeat everyone lok around if you need a 200Hp motor 2000.00 is a super deal.
After reading your other postings witchammer, I would like to go out on a limb, and predict that you wont be around these boards very long.<br /><br />I just dont think this is the place for a used outboard salesman, your advice it naturally biased. Go sell your wares on Ebay please.<br /><br />I could be wrong about you, If I am wrong, I will apologize, time will tell.
I agree. Its hard to take advice on a used outboard from someone trying soooo hard to pitch it's good value. Working at a boating establishment one would think you could unload it quietly around there. Just my .02 , nothing more or less.
You are rude I am not biased. This is my own motor I have had since it was new. The one guy does not know what motors are worth and you must not neather. And if this is the way this board treats new members I am glady gone. This board must not want exp members that are in the boating Ind. I was just trying to show what othe motors of the same are going for. If members here want to pay high retail for a used motor lets say 3500.00 instead of 2000.00 thats fine I will go to ebay. There are a lot of lookers here anyway. I have 15yrs exp in the retail boating and can help some and of course I sell. Everybody on this board will need to buy something at some point. I just want you to know that you have run off someone that might could have helped someone out with your rudeness.
Now lets not all get our panties in a wad. If Mr. Witchammer's engine is as he sez and I was in the market it certinally would have my attention. Fortunatly, I'm not but someone else my be. <br />Besides that, he may know somethin' we don't so be at ease.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />hooty
Ahoy, Witchammer. I did some looking around and have to agree that your engine is priced well for what it is. I didn't mean to imply that I thought otherwise, I didn't have any idea. I am not a Mercspert.<br /><br />Many people who hang around this board are Merc people. They know what you have and they know what they want. You push too hard and irritate them. Lighten up.<br /><br />Good luck. If you had a really good Yammy 130 or 150 from that period and wanted 2 big ones for it you probably would have sold it the first day.<br /><br />Red sky at night. . .<br />JB
Hello Witchammer <br /><br />evin300 is a good guy and he's just testing you......you must admit it looks a little sided when one appears aggressive to sell something....<br />Take it easy, relax, this is the best bunch of guys around. If you love the industry as we do, you'll fit in...and you'll be glad you did.<br /><br />
I'm with Hooty. live and let live. Captain Solos excepted, this is a tolerant board or I'd have been run off long ago. Let's give people a little slack. If you think someone is misusing the board, try a very gentle suggestion, direct email to the poster or take it to Admin5 instead of creating threads that can get everyone upset in hurry.<br /><br />Witchammer, don't go, but if you look around you won't see a lot of 4sale posts here and you don't see anyone priming their post 4 times to keep it on top. Sell the 200 on Ebay but stick around and teach me something about outboards if you like -- it won't be hard.
OK sorry to all I just want to sell it kind of bad to put a dowm payment on a Harley i got the fever for it bad So bad I will give away my boat motor. I can replace it later they want 10% dn on the bike and its the slow season at work and I cant afford 2 grand out of saveing now but I can do without the boat motor for a while. I dont want to mess with Ebay. Im sorry to come on with a hard sell does anyone know of a good place to post it but not Ebay .
