I was wondering anyway you can lose lower unit oil through your exhaust? I recently lost my lower unit when I took the oil plug out what oil was left in there blue all over me due to high pressure

I'm not much of a outboard guy but there is a o ring on the lower unit where it connects to the upper unit, I'm thinking that seal may not have been put back in correctly but the pressure should not be there. I'm at a loss as to why? I bet the next poster will come up with an possible idea.

??----The sun heats these things up.------That puts air pocket at pressure.-------If gearcase is hot you open the vent plug first.

There was almost no oil in the lower unit. What was there was black and stinky. I checked lower unit oil a few days before I put the boat in the water. Somehow I lost oil. I can't find any indication of leakage anywhere.
