Hi I have read the forums my 1986 four winns liberator with a 454 stumbles if you throttle up too quickly. after reading it looks like a fuel problem. I have replaced the fuel filter so far with no effect. now I think the next step is the anti-siphon valve. but the problem is the boat is up north and by the time I get there on the weekend most part stores are closed. Does anyone know which valve my boat has, so I can order/buy it before I get to the boat this weekend?
thanks Bob

Howdy

A stumble during throttling up is not an anti-siphon valve issue, this would be more a carb accelerator pump issue. The anti-siphon valve can cause the carb to loose fuel pressure and cause it to start running out of fuel.

I have only had the boat for 2 weeks now. I really don't know but my guess that Era it's a qjet.
I was reading that you should replace the anti-siphon on a older boat anyways.
Kind of stinks I don't get out of work till Saturday morning then drive 4 hours to get to the boat. The little lady wants out on the water as soon as we get there!!!
There is a auto zone up there that should stock the acc. Pump kit.
Bob
And thank you

You could replace the acc pump, but more then likely the carb is dirty inside. The pump pushes fuel through a very small channel in the carb and down the throat of the carb. The pump may need replacing but replacing it is only part (in most cases) of the overall problem. Now if you don't take off quick you can should be able to get the boat up in plane and running, just takes a bit more time
