I have a 125 Force. I ran it the other day for the first time. I found out that it was only running on #1 & #2.

#3 & #4 were dead. After an expensive trouble shooting adventure, I found out the stator was bad. I replaced the stator and tried to start the motor.

the motor sound good for a few seconds and then abruptly stops. It also pops when trying to start.

Can someone help me please???

Sounds like a sheared flywheel key, which will throw off the timing, causing it to backfire.

Remove flywheel and check the key, replace it needed, then torque the flywheel nut really fn tight. (can't remember - 80 ft# ?? )
Gonna have to check/reset timing. Should get yourself a repair manual if you don't have one.

The key is fine. I had to remove the flywheel to replace the stator. I have a manual so I will look the timing. Thank you for your help

Did you torque the flywheel nut and to what value ?----Your description is classic of a sheared key.----Some will argue , but I would check the key again.

Do as roscoe and raceone suggest, check the flywheel key.
You do not have to remove the flywheel to check it.
Set the throttle at idle (lowest setting as possible).
Put a screw driver in top cylinder and turn the flywheel to set #1 piston at TDC.
If the key is okey the timing mark should line up with the "0" mark at the flywheel.
If, not the key is sheared.

You said (the motor sound good for a few seconds and then abruptly stops. It also pops when trying to start.) This sounds like there's an air leak somewhere?
The popping could be the air screws are set wrong or the port cover gaskets are bad and sucking air?
Remove the carbs and check the reeds?

Sounds like air coming in somewhere. Had similar issue. Turned out one of the port gaskets was sucking air
