1986 ELPTO Mercury 90 Enrichener valve question

Question on the enrichner valve assembly (part #42859A2 on merc's parts site) Does it matter which nipple on the enrichner the fuel lines are attached to? It's just an open/shut valve, right?

Probably but easily enough solved. Get some tubing and connect to each port with the opposite port open. Exercise the function, blowing into the end of the tubing and experience the results.
