1986 classic 50 key will not turn it over

hi there my classic 50 will not turn over by key i just installed new controls on the boat and the starter wont even engage when i go to turn it over all connections are fine and battery is brand new just wondering if it is a blown cranking solenoid i did cross the starter leads and it attempted to start fine

With a short piece of wire, try jumping from the positive battery cable to the small (start) terminal on the solenoid. If the solenoid engages the motor should spin. If not, the solenoid is bad.

Okay so the motor spun up but my key is still not getting any power I just replaced the whole shifter and its not turning over ?

So I took a look at wiring diagrams and found out all the positive power ran through a single fuse how can you tell if the fuse is no good because its the only thing left that I can think of that's the probelm because all the power runs through this fuse

problem solved i changed the fuse and my motor is up and running thanks for the support
