Well, I have a couple of issues with my 1986 Mercury 90HP. So I turn to the experts for advice. My first issue is no spark to the cylinders. I used a test light to check the switch boxes. The wires going into the switch boxes from the stator is hot. The wires going in from the trigger is not and the wires going from the switch boxes to the coils are not either. What are your experiences? Should I change the switch boxes, stator, or trigger?
My second issue is the tilt/trim. When I try to raise the trim I hear a clicking noise. It will occasionally raise but a majority of the time it does not. When I try to lower it, it does nothing. I hear nothing. I can use a screw driver to raise and lower is via the solenoids by touching the two terminals. Could this mean that my solenoids are bad or would it be something else? Thanks for any info you guys can give.
