1986 8.0 HP JOHNSON HELP

Could anyone help me with specs information (timing, spark plugs gaps....)for this engine. Could anyone share an owners manual or repair manual copy. Will pay a reasonable price for a copy. Thanks <br />[*]

Spark plug gap is .030. W.O.T timing is not adjustable. Pickup timeing is when the throtle cam line and cam roller are centered ,throtle butterfly just starts to open.If shopping for manuals get one from JOHNSON/EVINRUDE.What a difference that will make in your ease of use as compared to CLYMER or SELOC with very little cost difference.

hondon, really appreciated your information. I just rebuilt the carburator and put a new fuel pump on it, have not fire it yet. My problem is that there was no fuel getting to the plugs initially. I did start the motor by priming the plugs, it run but was missing, and when I accelerated it, it just coughed and shut off. If you have another good suggestion...I'm a good listener. Thanks a bunch!

It is possible that you have your idle mixture screw in way to lean.

What am I talking about? If you think you have a fuel problem then solve it. First put your engine on a fuel source other than your own with a different hose .No change ? Then pump the primmer bulb at the point of stalling.No change? Then squirt a little 50 to 1 fuel mix in the carb when she's starting to fall off. #1 fuel tank. #2fuel pump.#3 carb.
