Hello everyone,
I’m new to posting on and searching forums, so please excuse any lack of forums etiquette as I learn my way around.

I recently purchased a 1986 Merc 75HP 4 cyl serial# 0A995041 ELPTO (model# 1075726 I believe)

I’m replacing a 1972 Merc 650 Thunderbolt 3cyl on my 1972 Invader Tri-hull (too hard to source electrical parts for).

I’m looking for a PDF of the shop manual before I pull and kit the carbs and kit the triangle fuel pump and water pump.

This engine is unknown to me but has good compression and runs on the stand fairly decent with some fuel related troubles hopefully resolved by the carb kits and pump rebuild.

In addition to the shop manual does anyone have any “reliability enhancing” loose ends I should tie up? I want to take this engine on a boating trip to lake Ouachita in Arkansas the second week of September and would like to do it with confidence in this engine haha.

Thank you in advance.
R.

Install a new water pump impeller.-----Great motor if in good condition and looked after.-----Wise move in tossing out that 3 cylinder 650 model !!

Thank you Racerone, I just need to get my hands on this shop manual so I can’t teach myself hopefully everything I need to know about this engine.

I have a 1992 40 hp model , I found a used factory service manual on Ebay for inly 20 bucks. Nice thing to have, makes servicing these motors much easier, just make sure you get a " factory" manual and not a generic
