86 4cyl 75 hp merc. serial number 0B107213,

There is a bolt between the carbs listed as a center bearing locking screw. It has a locking tab washer. Mine is loose and I cant find any info in the manual about this bolt, not torque specs what it does any thing. If i tighten it as tight as I feel comfortable the locking tab washer will not work unless i back it off to line the tab up and then it is right back where it started. my thoughts are thats why its loose in the first place and it came from the factory that way this motor has never been split so it has never been removed.

Can anyone shed some light on what this bolt is for how it is suppose to be installed and if I you think I have a problem waiting to happen or not. 14

??---Tighten it to 120 inch lbs and find a tab on the washer to bend up / around the hex..---keeps center bearing in place and keeps it from moving up and down with changing crankcase pressures.
