When in doubt, use premix in your fuel tank as a back up... and make a mark on the oil tank. Run the engine for a days outing or so, then observe the oil level to see how much oil was used.
However, you could remove the carburetor face plate, then remove the float chamber drain bolt/screw to drain the fuel into a small container. This will show if the gasoline is tainted in color by the oil.
