I'm having problems with the outboard on my boat. The motor runs fine at an idle for extended periods of time. On the lake again at an idle it still runs perfect. When it is taken to full power it acts like it's starving for fuel and then shuts off. When I tried to restart it would not crank over (no clicking, no anything). After running it back to the dock with the kicker (25min.) it started fine.<br />After it shut down on the lake I pulled the cover and hand checked the cylinders for overheating. I could lay my hands on it for several seconds with no burns. When I got it home I pulled the cover off and there is oil laying around the base of the power head. Is there anything on the motor that shut it down if it overheats? The warning buzzer for overheat did not go off. The oil leads me to think the VRO is not getting oil into the fuelbecause of a leak. Would to low of an oil to fuel ratio cause my problems? If someone to tell me the procedure for unhooking the VRO, I would rather premix the oil either way. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
