1986 50hp Yamaha Outboard

So a problem as arose a month ago when water accidently got into my 6 gallon metal can. I put Iso heat in it. And it fired up. ran ok. well now when i start it it idles for a min or 2 then dies. and when i put it in gear it will die unless i give it gas. any ideas?

does your have a water/fuel seperator filter? Also if water made it into the fuel filter, it will also need changed as well.

I do not have a water fuel seperator, i haven't changed the filter at all. I have gone to Premium Gas tho. But no change. I am to the point i want to rebuild the carb.

I just spoke to our local marine store who has a super knowledgeable mechanic. He told me i need to pull the drain plugs on each of the 3 carbs becasue there is still water in the entire fuel system even tho i used the heet.
