Guys,

I just registered here because I am considering the purchase of a 14' Sea Nymph with Johnson 25hp. Everytime I do a web search this forum comes up so it must be a good one.

Boat and motor are 1986, I think. Engine hadn't run much in past three years but with some fresh fuel it fired after just a few pulls. It sprays a solid stream. Current owner hadn't used it in past three years, previous owner kept it in the lake. Lower unit looks pretty crusty. What kind of problems might exist in a crusty lower unit?

Boat, motor, fuel tank, trailer, trolling motor for $750. Seems like I can't get hurt too bad, right?

Thanks,
Byron

Post a pic of the lower unit, but most likely not too big a worry.

Also, is the water suction the skinny rectangular panel on the left side of the lower unit? I could not get water flow with "ears" but they were too big and didn't fit well. So I sacrificed my rain barrel and it flowed like a champ. Did I have the ears over the wrong area?
