Hi guys, I just picked up this boat and the motor was completely full of water, I was wondering if there was a similar motor that I could replace this with where Everything would be compatible and bolt on. Im not even sure how this much water got into this thing. Any help is appreciated.

Ayuh,..... It's just a 350 Chevy long block, with the Merc accessories bolted to it,....

If it is truely an '86, it'll have the 1 pc. rear main seal,.....
If it's a '85 hold-over, it could be a 2 pc. rear main seal,.....

That has to be determined, before ya go shoppin' for a replacement,.....

Most likely path for the water, is right down the carb,....

Thanks Bondo, this one is turning over now, I just put some mystery oil down the cylinders, maybe I will get lucky. Is it easy to tell between the I pc. or 2 pc rear main seal?

Its a 32 year old boat. No mater who made it 32 years ago matters less than its care and maintenance over the past 3 decades.

Especially considering it was built with a 15 year design life
