I just ran across an article by Tashasdaddy on bypassing the VRO. So i guess this topic is null. Thanks though.

I just bought a boat and after further inspection i have noticed that there is a bit of oil in the engine compartment. It is the automatic oil injection system. Could this just be abad oil line? Or could it be something more dire.

Also, with this being a 1986 engine, is there anything on the oil system that could use an upgrade? I have seen that Bombardier makes a bypass fuel pump? that lets you premix the fuel. Would hate to be 10 miles out in the gulf and my engine poop out on me.

That oil is more likely than not, a weak connection somewhere. Tighten all clamps and look at the oil line for cracks or "wet spots". Your motor has been running now for 25 years with the VRO. If it ain't broke......
