1986 140 rude question

does each carb corresponde to that cylinder or does the passage way after the reeds, cross over to the opposite side

The carburetor passageways crisscross. Look directly at the carburetors. The furthest top one is #1, Next down is #2, etc etc.

Looking at the back of the engine, the cylinders are numbered:

2....1

4....3
