I have had this boat for 10 years. It has always had a bog in the low end. we just pushed the choke in really quick to get going. this year i lost a lot of power from the engine. I bought a book and tried to be a mechanic. Fallowed the steps and found a bad ingnition box. went out in the boat and it has never ran so well. no bog in the low end and lots of power. but after ten minutes or so it felt like a loss of power. now it takes off, but not that well. It runs but not at the 5000 rmps like it used to. It bearly gets to 4500. I have followed the book. compression, spark, stater, coils, new plugs. new fuel filter, pumped the gas while runnig, rechecked the carb settings. nothing seems to change. The only thing that i found is the stater has about 500 ohms higher than the book says, but i hav about 3/8" jump spark.
hope that is enough info to get started

Have you pulled the carbs off and given them a good cleaning (soaking) and used a carb rebuild kit?

Just my 2 cents
