Welcome to the Outboard Engines Forum.<br /><br />If there is much of any skeg left you might be able attach a skeg guard. It bolts up to what's left.<br /><br />Lower unit removal is pretty much the same for most outboards. Remove the bolts and or nuts connecting the lower unit alnong with detaching the shift mechanism (in many cases)and drop it off the rest of the motor.<br /><br />Probably best you picked up a manual. there's a link for manuals near the bottom of this page.
