1985 yamaha 4 hp carb

Anyone familiar with the 1985 Yamaha 4LK 4 horse outboard? I took the carburetor apart and in the fuel pump area I noticed a aluminum little cap with maybe a spring? I didn’t see the spring until I moved a little and fell out of my hand I’m guessing it goes with the cap in fuel pump. There’s not many threads or videos on this motor that I can find. If anyone can lead me into the right direction I will greatly appreciate it! Thank y’all in advance!! Before putting back together I want to make sure everything is in its right place

Is it not the float valve that allows or stops fuel flowing ? Very unlikely the fuel cap vent spring could get anywhere near there.

No i took it out completely and it seem to get gas regularly. I still have it it went inside where the fuel diaphragm is I’ll post pictures later
