Long story short the cross pin on the clutch dog backed out and snapped a small piece off. It rolled around the head of the pinion where the nut is and basically rounded the head off. I cannot get a socket, wrench or vice grips on it. Is my best bet trying to loosen or cut it off with a cold chisel? I see no other options other than a torch.20220413_180557.jpg

Gears appear to be bad -----So chop / chop.----Used lower unit might be an option.

I saw the chips, it's just the very leading corners and not horrible. For what I got in it I'd rather try and salvage it if I can. If I get a season or 2 out of it it would be worth it. Not "correct" but if I can run it for a while it would be great

A machine shop might be able to get in there with a plasma torch and cut the nut off. Maybe resulting in less collateral damage than if using a chisel.
