Hey everyone, I've got a question for you. My brother and I have this motor and following a carb rebuild and a new switchpack, it ran beautifully for several weeks. He is on the Llano river right now and he called me telling that it is running like crap lately. He says that it backfires fiercely when it's under load. I've seen a few posts about reed valves on these motors. Could that possibly be causing the problem? I don't think the carb is the problem because it ran perfectly for several weeks and hasn't been messed with since. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
