1985 Sea Ray with 5.7 missing ignition module and distributor

I just bought a 1985 Sea Ray 25' Sundancer and it is missing the distributor and ignition module. I was wondering if there are any aftermarket systems that are recommended or if the factory is the best. Can I use a auto system?

Delco EST would work fine.

Will I need an ignition module then or what ever the black box is that mounted on the inside of the starboard exhaust manifold?
