My mechanic has this running great now. Had issues last year with starting. Replaced the starter and also replaced internal charging system with alternator....However, after running on the water for about 30 mins, the engine will start running rough, lose rpms, then speed up , slow down. Could not get more than 2800RPM's..After it cools down runs fine..THen same thing after it warms up. New point, condenser, etc for the season. Pulled the tachometer wire and still the same issue..IS it possible the coil is breaking down and causing a firing problem...DOes not seem like a fuel problem...Even would back fire at times...ANY IDEAS?

I had the same problem go to you auto parts store and get a coil for 20.00 see if its that if it is then go get a marine coil after its better then spending 50.00 for a coil and then finding out it was not the coil but i bet its the coil

HAd the boat out today...The new coil did the trick. No more funkiness. Had the best time since buying this boat. Hope it continues to run this good...Alternator upgrade was one of the best things I have done.
