I have a 1985 90 HP VRO. There is what appears to be a vacuum port in the block on the starboard side of the motor behind the terminal block. I checked this with a vacuum gauge and there is some vacuum there. I can't figure out what should be there and where it should go, I have been through the manual several times and can't find or keep overlooking vacuum schematics. Would anyone have any idea if a hose should be on this and if so, where would it go? A vacuum schematic would be great. vacuum plug.JPG vacuum plug 2.JPG

There should be a hose on there as part of the recirculation system.-------Is this a replacement block ?

Possible the block is slightly older than you think. When OMC first went to the fuel primer system in 1980 to replace the carb choke plates, the fuel primer system was plumbed to the 4 hose barbs on the bypass covers. In mid 83, this was discontinued, and the fuel primer hoses were redirected to the new hose barb on the top of each carb. If yours is this older block, you should have 4 of those hose barbs, one on each cover.

No Title

Racerone, I bought the boat and motor together from a gentleman that stated he was selling the boat to settle the estate of his father. I have no idea if this is a replacement block. Should I get a Tee fitting and connect it to the other recirculation hoses? Although I am not sure they are recirculation hoses. See comment below to emdsapmgr and images.

Emdsapmgr, The model and title both show this as a 1985. I can tell the primer hoses go to a tap on top of each carb. My parts catalog shows 4 hoses that are near the carbs but the catalog calls them drain hoses. The fuel system manual shows them on the intake. I just can't figure out why the barb on the block is not shown.

I can't figure out why the images keep posting sideways. Sorry.

Sure the primer hoses go to the top of the carburetors, but the barb in the picture is for the recirc system !!!!!!

You have a fuel re circulation hose coming off the intake manifold at each cylinder, they are small hoses that converge into a 5 port plastic block that has one hose coming off and running to a barbed fitting under the connector block. Any other barbed fittings on your block should be plugged off to eliminate vacuum leak. replacement blocks can have numerous barbed fittings...just plug them!!
