1985 Johnson 150 VRO

I have a 1985 Johnson 150 VRO which has always been hard to cold start, but has rcently (seemingly) gotten worse. It also seems to intermittently, especially at low, no wake type speed, run on less than all cylinders. Obvious things like fuel, filters and plugs have been checked. Ideas?

You say fuel has been checked. Does that include the fuel pump and carbs? Are you losing just two cylinders or all six? If you are losing two, it's almost certainly a carb low speed circuit. If you are losing all six it is more likely to be fuel pump, intermittent electrical fault in the ignition system (loose wire, intermittent short circuit), some fault in the VRO system or other system common to all six cylinders.
