Welcome to a new season all :)

Im looking to buy a boat lift and I was wondering if anyone would know the approx weight of 85 bayliner with a force 85 motor on it?

Im looking at one that will hold 1,500 lbs.
I think I remember someone said 1,200 lbs,but not sure if the motot was included on that extimate.
Anyone have any idea?
Thanks,
Scotty

I'd make sure before cutting it that close with a lift. Drive onto a truck scale with boat/trailer, then trailer only. Most big truck stop gas station places have a scale. Who knows how they measure the weight of the boat. Some gear, extra battery, full gas tank, etc can add weight in a hurry...

The HIN will contain the model designator. Not sure what the stuff on that title is, you sure its not a trailer title?

I have the same boat but it is an 84, 16 foot Capri. The dry weight is 1050lbs including the 85hp engine. I think the only thing added in 1985 was a radio.

I can't see the pic since the FB page says content unavailable. Don't forget though that the 1984 model was Power Boat of the Year according to Powerboat Magazine.:D We still have the sticker on the dash. Back in 84 when we bought ours, that Bayliner was a real head turner. Funny thing is when you see them used in nice shape they aren't much less than they cost new (ignoring inflation of course).

We actually enjoyed the heck out of ours. It doesn't see much action anymore but it will run into the low 40's right along with the new i/o 3.0's. Of course you pay the price at the pump to say the least.

We have two six gallon tanks and a few trips around the lake pulling some skiers, and a little cruising at wot and you're done. It doesn't seem that long ago when gas was 99 cents a gallon and we wouldn't even give it a second thought.

Re: 1985 bayliner weight?

i know its rediculous the price of gas.
So my pic you seen above now right?

It's a bayliner capri?
Nice boat and I bought it for 800 dollars as the middle of the floor was torn out,so i had to do some rework.
Over all it runs good.
might have to time it or something as it has to go to full throttle to go,then i let up a little, and it seems to go faster for a little bit, then it boggs.

I decarbed it,but that wasnt it i guess.
Got a chart last fall to set the jets,so wil ltry that before too long.
