i have a 140 mercruiser motor that will turn over easily, will catch when you put some gas straight into the carb but will not start. I tested it for spark so thats not an issue, the fuel pump is pumping gas when i unplug it from the carb, i do not see any gas going down into the carb when the gas line is connected. I have changed the carb out with another carb i had and still it does the exact same thing. What all could be wrong that it will not start? Could it possibly be in the wiring if it turns over and is getting spark? I know there is a filter in the carb and it seems to be working like i said i changed out 2 complete carbs on it and still nothing... any ideas would be appreciated thanks.
(NOTE
In the picture the gas return line that wraps over the valve cover is not connected. but when i was attempting to start it was connected.
