I have a chance to purchase a 1985 75 HP Evinrude with 20 hours. has controls and power trim. what are the reviews of this motor and what is a reasonable price? will replace 50 HP merc 500 on 16 ft Silverline.
Don't know what fair price would be assuming engine operates fine.Remember used motors are like used wifes . get some history and guarantees before marrying to your transom.Historically if maintained properly 75 johnsons are almost bullet proof.Rather than any inherent fragility most horror stories come from poor maintenance and operation.
