1985 70hp not getting enough fuel to run full speed. There are no air leaks,120 compression in each cylinder, good spark, new fuel lines, carbs cleaned 3 times, carbs are tight against the block and gaskets are good. Needles not sticking, gas is going to every carb through hoses. Please help. It runs good and idles good just wont go full speed. The arms working good. Did sync and link good. It will go full speed if u squirt gas in the carbs.

Does it matter which carb you spray the fuel into to make it go full speed? If the carb is already getting enough fuel then spraying fuel into the throat should actually make the engine bog down not speed up. So if it speeds up then you know your problem is lack of fuel / lean condition.

Better look at the high speed jets in the carbs again.

Take a friend out with you next time you go boating. Have that person constantly prime the fuel hose bulb. That will keep the carb bowls full of fuel. If the engine runs fine at WOT as long as you constantly prime the fuel hose bulb, the fuel system is suspect. Could be a weak pump, bad anti-siphon valve, bad fuel pickup, bad fuel hose bulb, etc.

If you have a built in tank, check that "darn" anti-siphon valve.
