1985 3.0 litre alpha one gen one

my tilt trim goes up but does not wanna go down all my switches and electrical are workling. does anyone know whats going on. i dont wanna buy a 4oo dollar part if i dont need to. 85 3.0 litre alpha one gen one outdrive. can someone please help i i have already purged all the air out of the system and top fluid off as well. all wiring is good.

Ayuh,... Is the pump running,..?? or Not,..??

Release the aft ends of the rams, does the drive Easily lift,+ drop,..??

yes the pump is running. but wont go down when i unhooked the lines i had to put pressure on it to get it to go down. once down stays down when i go back up it doesnt go back down on my rams i have two lines going to each one which one should i loosen. there are ones on the top than on the side. im new to the whole boat repair just trying to save myself some money

Ayuh,... Sounds like the pivots on the drive are Seized... Grease it...

ok now where would i grease it at the boat has been my project. im down to getting my tilt trim to work amd its ready for water. i got the boat from a guy who hadnt done anything with it for two years.

Aren't there grease fittings at the gimbel housing pins, where the drive pivots up, 'n down,..??
Beside the sender/ limit switches...
There should be...

ahh yes there is i will grease them and should i move it down manually first to work the grease in and than try it. from what ive explained the pump doesnt sound bad does it i will grease and work in than post updates on what happens tomorrow thank you.

i greased all my fittings on the drive still goes up but not down. when manually release it goes right down. fluid is all full and pump is running both up and down.

Ayuh,... Will the rams travel Both ways when disconnected from the drive at the aft pins,..??

yes they will go both ways when disconnect. they retract back in hard i worked them a little bit and they loosened up so yes they go both ways.
