I just bought a new boat to me that is in excellent condition with the above mentioned motor. It looks like it came off the showroom floor. Anyway I plan on doing on trolling this particular motor is one that mixes the oil and fuel on its own. I usually troll around 1- 1.4 mph if i can even get this motor down this low with either a trolling plate or drift socks/5 gallon buckets will it hurt this motor in the long run. Only plan on doing it for about one year until i get some of the other toys. Then i will purchase a kicker motor with the auxillary plate to mount it on. Thanks.

Just open her up when done each day and clean er out. Prob. need to run Seafoam to keep the carbon down.

Thanks I thought it wouldn't be a problem but my buddy insists that it will be. Anyway ref the seafoam do you just put in with the fuel or do you have to put some down the cylinders thru the spark plug hole for the carbon buildup and how often?
Also if you put seafoam in fuel does it do the same thing as stabil for the fuel and carb.
Thanks

I've trolled once or twice a week for two years on my 150hp ProV 2 stroke with no ill effect. You should be fine.

Re: 1984 Yamaha 2 stroke 90 hp

I bought my Yamaha 90HP premix 2 stroke new in 1999, run Ringfree and Stabil all the time, Pennzoil 100% Synthetic Outboard Motor Oil, I can idle or troll all day with no problems at all, very little smoke or carbon. Of course I believe it's a good idea to run at full throttle a while whenever you can, just to "blow it out" a bit. If you're going to do a lot of really slow trolling maybe a small 4 stroke kicker motor would be good.
