1984 Wellcraft 26 Nova II

Hi! I'm new to the site. My husband and I are purchasing a 1984 Wellcraft Nove 2, 26 ft. Twin 350's. He seems to know more about it than I do and I'm currently researching online to find out more about our new (old) boat. Can anyone give me some input on this boat or post pictures of your Wellcraft Nova 2? I will post pics of our Wellcraft as soon as we pick it up later today. It's in great shape and the motors run great. The interior is faded but no cracking or tears. I'm excited to own this boat. The Cuddy cabin will be great for our family and I can't wait to make it our own.

@ almost 30 years of age, the things to keep in mind;

You need reserve money to perform all services on her; fix any broken things and ensure the exhaust systems and outdrives are not $10,000 bills waiting to happen.

A thorough mechanical inspection is in order, and the first couple of outings should be without any kids, family or recreation in mind.

Give it a good 'shakedown' or two and have a certified Merc guy that you trust break down the 'fix now' things and the 'consider this' things.

Neighbor had one - check for wood rot in the transom. I have a 1988 23' Wellcraft CC & had to haVE THE TRANSOM REDONE - GREAT BOAT THOUGH.
