1984 Riviera Cruiser Transducer Mounting Help

I have a 1984 Riviera Cruiser pontoon boat(22'). I need to mount the transducer for a Lowrance HDS7. The pontoons at the stern end are tapered upwards and there is no bracket there. I would really prefer NOT to have to weld a bracket on.

Anyone successfully mounted a transducer in another place that gave good results?
