1984 mercury tower of power tach

where do i hook up a tach on an inline 6 mercury 115? its an 84 so it has the newer ignition system with the power packs.

my factory tach just hooks up to the same terminal on the rectifier as one of the stator leads. (doesnt matter which one). This is on an inline 6, i imagine it is the same though

where is the rectifier? later il look for yellow wires off the stat and work my way from there.

The gray wire going from the connector plug to the rectifier is your Tach wire.
