Anything in particular you are looking for. I can tell you the motor you have now weighs 65# if it's a Manual start, 70# if electric start. Both are rated 9.8 HP at the propshaft. I don't know anything about the gear ratios or props available for either unit, but I'm sure someone else here does. What else would you like to know?
Who makes what on the new mercury 9.9s. I have heard that yamaha makes the powerheads and merc the lower unit. Also I was wondering why Mercury didnt make the 9.9 with loop charged istead of cross flow,I have heard that loop charged is better.<br /><br />and i was wondering how many CCs a 1984 Merc 9.9 has.
Don't know about the new 9.8's but here are some specs on the '84: 10.9 c.i., WOT 4500-5500 rpm,<br />2.0 bore, 1.750 stroke; L77J4 plug .40 gap, begin s/n 6438338, lower unit ratio 2:1 .<br />Hope this helps someway.
