1984 Mercury 60hp Thermostat

I have a 1984 Mercury 60hp 3 cyl, that doesn't spit much water out of the pee hole but it comes out the exhaust. I have been told to check and see if the thermostat is plugged or bad, but I can't find the thermostat. <br /><br />Do I have a thermostat and if so where is it? What does it look like.

Check the telltale spout. If it developes a crack, it'll leak internally and rob your telltale stream. Check to see if the spout or hose feeding it are not plugged. just squeeze the flexible spout to clear.... If all checks good, inspect water pump impellar.<br /><br />Good luck!!

schematic, telltale is fine so is the impellar.<br />I was tinking it maybe that the thermostat may have rubbish around it thus restricting the water flow. Do you know where the thermostat is located?

Nope, snapper...no thermostat...if you have not put a impeller in this motor in the last 3-4 years, it is time....
