1984 Mercury 50hp Outboard

Dear Everyone,

Can someone please tell me what Remote Control is on my 1984 Smokercraft boat. I have a 50hp Mercury 4cylinder outboard, serial number 6539992. I had a small plastic piece break inside the remote control that would not allow me to shift into reverse. Your help with this would be fantastic! Im not sure if it is the Commander 2000, but I dont think so.

OK i think i understand your question? Something broke off in the throttle shift box? Or something in the motor? EBay is a great source for parts it takes 20min to make an account and you never have to do it again. eBay has saved me hundreds of $$ and found part i could never find. Try "mercury 50 controls" or even on google and you should find something. Is it a specific part you need or the whole box and cabes?

Schnidly,check out this parts listings from dougrussell.com,you should be able to find yours here (im thinking most likely a commander 2000) but could be another one made by quicksilver (mercury)
